He’s not trying to be rude…
He just really loves food…
And maybe… a little bit of company too!
Nobody knows who first saw him appear knee high to a junkyard dog, all shiny and clear. Built from old scrap, polished and neat,
with a metal teacup hat and oversized feet.
A knife and a fork both taller than him,
clink and clatter with purpose and a grin.
He never says much, just sits down in place,
with hopeful eyes and amazing grace.
He’s not on the list, but he always turns up,
waiting politely beside your cup…
And though you never planned for one more guest… he will sit quite still and eat with the best.
Once you get past the scraping and stare.. and the fact that he’s always already there…
you might just find, quite comfortably,
you’ve grown fond of Mr Biscoff Crumbly who our family now calls Gnome…
